Cosme-de.com & Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion Review

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

Hello everybody,

So I have taken a step back from my fashion posts and I've decided to do another beauty related blogpost. As you can tell by the title, this post is going to be all about my experience with Cosme-de.com and a review on the Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion. If you saw my instagram post (@moderndaychic), then you would have saw some other products that I had purchased. I have not tested any of these products as of yet, but when I do I'll do another review on them.

Cosme-de.com:
My experience with cosme-de.com was overall perfect. Basically the online store is situated in Hong Kong, and what had led me to this website was the discounts and deals they had for both drugstore and high end products. The main reason for me purchasing their items, was because they sold beauty products from Asia that I cannot purchase in Perth. If you aren't aware, another website which I have heard great things about is Sasa.com, however what made me choose Cosme-de over Sasa was the fact that Cosme-de offered free shipping. My whole experience of Cosme-de I found was excellent. The products arrive in perfect condition, and the shipping time was very reasonable. After my purchase it had only taken 2 weeks, which is very good considering on numerous occasions where it had taken me over a month to get something from Hong Kong. They also offer free tracking for your package as well. If you are a new member, you can get $10 off your first purchase. I would definitely recommend Cosme-de.com if you are interested in purchasing their products.

Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion Review:
The thing that had drove me to buy something from Cosme-de was the Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion. Now that it is summer, a product like this is very ideal. It's very lightweight, and the wear of this is amazing. The summers in Perth range from 45-30 degrees, so having a product like this is very handy.

Here is a list of what the product claims to have:

  • Mineral Powder
  • Jeju Green Tea
  • Effective Cover
  • Long lasting
  • Deep Moisture
What is written on the box is this:
This melting BB cushion contains Jeju green tea water to create dewy and clear skin.
  • 5-in1 multi functional product (Whitening + UV ray prevention + cooling + sebum control + make up)
  • Formulated with 100% prescribed Jeju green tea water in lieu of distilled water to fortify skin moisture while presenting dewier and clearer skin.
  • Contained with primer powder to reveal soft smooth skin texture.
[Directions] Use BB puff to evenly smooth over face in the stage of foundation and gently pat to finish. Reapply by gently patting whenever desired.

Now, I have found all of these claims to be 100% true. Ok, so if you were like me before I knew this fact, I'm going to set your minds at ease. There is a MASSIVE misconception when people think that the word whitening is to make your face white. Now, I fell for this as well but when I asked a worker in an Asian beauty shop in Perth, she told me that whitening actually meant brightening the skin. There is a big misconception about the term whitening in the Western countries. If they simply replaced the word whitening with brightening, I think it would clear up any apprehensions people have for Asian beauty products. Through my experience of whitening face masks, I don't attain whiter skin as such, but my skin complexion is brighter. By having brighter skin this can reduce the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, younger looking skin and overall a healthy looking complexion. So for the majority of my readers who live in western countries like myself, I just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings people might have. For the product itself, it had performed very well. When I first tried this product, Perth was currently 41 degrees, and yet it still stayed on perfectly. Plus being that it is summer having SPF 50+ is really handy, so that not only would it protect your skin, but it will reduce any chances of your skin aging. This product definitely has a dewy finish to it. Personally I love the dewy skin look. By having dewy skin I feel that it looks a lot more natural and healthy. If you  however have oilier skin or prefer the matte look then try out the Innisfree Longwear BB Cushion, you will find there are a lot more reviews on this in comparison to the Innisfree Mineral Melting BB Cushion. The packaging of this product is compact and travel friendly. I find that this product is great for both summer and winter. Since it is so hydrating and long lasting, this would be a great product to use during winter when your skin is more prone to become drier. This product has light-medium coverage and is very build-able. Like I had stated before the finish that it provides is a dewy look, but also it looks very natural and seems as if I'm not wearing any makeup. The only negative I had about this product is the colour range. I purchased shade #03 (True Beige) which is the darkest shade available in the line. I have a light-medium skin tone (slightly lighter than c3 for MAC)  and this was still too light for me. So you if you have light-medium skin, be prepared to use bronzer. After I had used bronzer it looked fine and matched my body tone well. If you have lighter skin then you shouldn't have a problem with finding a colour that suits you.

Anyway that's all for now. Hopefully this will help you guys make any future purchase or just to provide you entertainment. I'll try to get a new blogpost up this week, and it will be my usual fashion posts. Also I'm doing a Q&A soon so that you guys will get a better insight of my personality. So please comment on this post or my instagram (@moderndaychic) of any questions you'd like to ask me. They can be about anything, so be creative :) By the way here's a link of a video I made on instagram for this post, its worth the watch.  http://instagram.com/p/yXM-cDCN7i/?modal=true
